Project Skate Receives $10,000 from Canadian Tire Jumpstart

We’re excited to share that Project Skate Hockey Club has once again received funding from Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities — this time, a generous $10,000 to support our free “Take a Shot” Learn to Play Hockey Program!

This marks the second time this year that Jumpstart has believed in our mission and invested in our work. Earlier this year, we received $16,000 to help us launch and expand our programming, and now, this additional support allows even more youth to step onto the ice, build skills, and fall in love with Canada’s game.

With Jumpstart’s help, we’re able to provide free access to equipment, ice time, and coaching — breaking down barriers that often prevent families from getting involved in hockey. Every dollar goes directly toward giving kids a chance to play, learn, and grow through sport.

This year also marks Jumpstart’s 20th anniversary — two decades of empowering over 3 million kids across Canada to participate in sports and recreation. Their commitment to inclusion and accessibility in sport perfectly aligns with our mission at Project Skate: to make hockey a game for everyone, no matter their background or financial situation.

We’re proud to be part of the Jumpstart community and deeply grateful for their continued belief in our work. Together, we’re helping more youth get on the ice — and creating opportunities that go far beyond the rink.

Thank you, Jumpstart, for helping us keep the game growing and for making a real difference in the lives of young athletes.
